These temples honor two famous figures in Vietnamese history: Cầm Bá Thước and Lady of the Upper Forests. This site is not only a spiritual heritage monument but also a place that preserves the traditional cultural values of the Thai people in Thanh Hóa. According to legend, the hero Cầm Bá Thước was from the Thai ethnic group, born in Vạn Xuân commune, Thường Xuân district. He was one of the leaders who supported the Cần Vương movement in Thanh Hóa at the end of the 19th century.
