The Lam Kinh Special National Relic is located in Lam Sơn Town, Thọ Xuân District, approximately 50 kilometers northwest of Thanh Hóa City. This is the ancestral homeland of the Lê Dynasty – the birthplace of the national hero Lê Lợi, who led the glorious Lam Sơn Uprising in the 15th century, driving out the Minh invaders and restoring independence to the nation. The Lam Kinh Special National Relic is constructed following the “backed by the mountain, facing the water” principle, with its back resting against Dầu Mountain and its front facing the Chu River and Chúa Mountain. To the left lies the Phú Lâm Forest, while to the right are the Hương Mountain and Hàm Rồng Mountain. Through the ebb and flow of time, the Lam Kinh Special National Relic still radiates the grandeur of a once mighty imperial court.
