Description

Ban Bu Cave - Majestic Beauty, Connected with Many Legendary Tales

Ban Bu Cave is located in Van Hoa Ward, Ngoc Lac Town, Ngoc Lac District. It is a place with a poetic and picturesque natural landscape. According to legend, from ancient times, nature endowed Ban Bu with a "sacred and picturesque" landscape and a large cave.

Entrance to Ban Bu Cave

Inside Ban Bu Cave, there are many awe-inspiring sights, such as the Forbidden Palace, Golden Mountain, Silver Mountain, Royal Pond… streams, and ravines. There is a stream inside the cave that flows all year round without ever drying up. The site includes the mountainous area and caves within the mountain (from the cave entrance to the Bai Ben dam). Inside the cave, there are many smaller caves, with the largest being the Chua Cave, which covers an area of about 12,000 square meters. The water is crystal clear, and the delicate stones rise like billowing sails in the sea. On the rocky dome, small pure streams flow down, creating a small lake with ripples. About 20 meters inside, there is a stone platform with golden yellow veins, covered by a thin, transparent layer of water. Nearby, there is a stalagmite resembling a figure sitting, guarding the "sacred treasure" in this mountainous region. The locals call this place the "King's Field." Beyond the King's Field, climb up the slope of the cave and rest at a large stone pillar standing firm like a pillar of heaven. Surrounding the pillar, stalactites flow down and solidify to form a canopy that resembles branches of the Bodhi tree...

Inside Ban Bu Cave

Along with the mountain, cave complex, and stream, in the Ban Bu historical-cultural relic site, there is also the Nan Pagoda, which is dedicated to the worship of Sakyamuni Buddha. This pagoda has existed for a long time but was destroyed by the Minh invaders. After defeating the Minh army, the villagers rebuilt the pagoda as a place for cultural, spiritual, and religious activities.

Road to Nan Pagoda

Every year, on the 19th day of the first lunar month, the local people hold the Ban Bu Cave Festival to promote national traditions and honor the great contributions and sacrifices of Le Thai To, the Le Kings, and the generals. The people made significant contributions to the history of establishing and protecting the country during the Lam Son Rebellion.
