Not only known for its natural beauty, Ma Hao Waterfall is also intertwined with a moving legend of loyalty which tells that during the 15th century, as the Lam Sơn forces led by Lê Lợi were battling the Minh invaders, they were relentlessly pursued and exhausted on their retreat. At this critical moment, Lê Lợi’s loyal dog, too weary to cross the waterfall, bravely turned back to confront the enemy’s dogs, fiercely fighting to protect its master.
