Located in Triệu Lộc Commune, Hậu Lộc District, Thanh Hóa Province, the Bà Triệu Historical and Artistic Architectural Site is a place that commemorates the life and heroic career of Triệu Thị Trinh, a courageous female general in the history of Vietnam’s resistance against foreign invaders.

According to historical records, in the year 248, Triệu Thị Trinh (commonly known as Bà Triệu), along with her brother Triệu Quốc Đạt, a powerful district commander in the region, gathered a group of insurgents and chose Núi Nưa (Nua Mountain) as their base to train in martial arts and raise an army to revolt against the invading Eastern Wu forces. The revolt led by Lady Triệu ultimately failed. She then chose to take her own life at Tùng Mountain (now located in Triệu Lộc Commune, Hậu Lộc District) on the 22nd day of the second lunar month in the year Mậu Thìn (248).
