Up to now, Le Van Huu's Dai Viet history is no longer there, but his comments are still recorded in Ngo Sy Lien's encyclopedia of Dai Viet history, including 29 paragraphs of notes that reiterate: "Le Van Huu wrote...".

In the title of the Dai Viet Historical Chronicle of the Foreign Encyclopedia, Ngo Si Lien wrote: "Van Huu was a good scribe of the Tran dynasty, Phu Tien was the elder of our holy dynasty, all obediently compiled the history of the country, searched all the remaining documents, collected them into books so that viewers in the next generation have nothing to regret.  That's okay." This word of Historian Ngo Si Lien written in the book Dai Viet History Encyclopedia also reiterates the above content.

After passing the exam, he was held the position of Examiner, then the Superior Army, then was ordained as an Academy of Scholars and Curators of National History. He was also a teacher of Lieutenant General Tran Quang Khai.

According to Le Tac's book An Nam strategy:

"Le Van Huu is both talented and fortunate, being the teacher of Chieu Minh Vuong, changing to Kiem-Fa-Quan, correcting the Viet Chi book."

An anecdote about Le Van Huu as a child:

One day, passing by the forge, seeing people making iron batons, Le Van Huu wanted to ask for one to make a bookbinding bamboo. Seeing this, the blacksmith made a statement:

"Coal in the furnace, iron in the furnace, fire in the furnace, blowing fat to form an iron rod."

Le Van Huu immediately replied:

"Research in the pocket, pen in the pocket, paper in the pocket, write in the pocket to win the treasure."
