When visiting the Cong Troi Waterfall, tourists feel as if they have entered a completely different space, far from the bustling traffic and towering buildings lit up with bright lights. Instead, you step into a scenic natural landscape with a pristine forest and a waterfall, cascading down from above into the vast, untouched wilderness.

Cong Troi Waterfall has been likened to a "sleeping princess in the forest" with its pristine and poetic beauty. The waterfall cascades down, creating a cloud of white foam amidst the vast wilderness, surrounded by a rich diversity of flora and fauna that enhances the enchanting beauty of this place.

Heaven Gate Waterfall – Exploring the Heavenly Realm on Earth

Heaven Gate Waterfall is a scenic historic site located in the Bù Mùn mountain range, in Xuân Quỳ commune, Như Xuân district, Thanh Hoá province. This natural waterfall was once situated in Chuối village, the original settlement of the Thai ethnic group who have lived here for a long time, maintaining a close connection with nature. In their belief, the dense jungle, towering mountains, and waterfalls together form a vast world filled with mysteries. Therefore, their faith in gods and reverence for natural deities have become deeply ingrained in their spiritual beliefs.

Heaven Gate Waterfall holds a sacred position in the spiritual life of the local people. The waterfall consists of three cascades, with a height of over 20 meters, covering a total area of approximately 500 square meters. The water is fresh and clear year-round, especially during the rainy season when the water volume increases, creating a truly beautiful natural landscape. Surrounding the waterfall is a system of ancient, centuries-old trees, providing shade and an ecological environment that harmonizes with the area for visitors to enjoy sightseeing and relaxation.

In addition, there is a surrounding mountain range and dense forest. This is a natural tourism resource with great potential for supporting tourism activities in the area.

Along with a series of other historical landmarks, scenic spots, and attractive ecological tourism destinations in Thanh Hoa, the Heaven Gate Waterfall eco-tourism area is like a “sleeping princess in the forest” that has just been awakened. Although it still has limitations in infrastructure and has not yet been fully invested in to meet the needs of food, rest, and accommodation for visitors, it is undoubtedly a must-visit destination for tourists coming to Thanh Hoa. With its values, Cong Troi waterfall was recognized as a tourist destination by Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee according to Decision No. 377/QD-UBND dated January 24, 2019. In the near future, this provincial-level cultural and scenic site will be properly invested in, becoming one of the key tourism points in Thanh Hoa province and on the tourism map of Viet Nam.
