Historical Site and Scenic Landmark

Located on the slopes of Mù Cua Mountain in Trường Lâm Commune, Nghi Sơn, Thanh Hóa, the Trường Lâm Scenic Landmark and Caves is one of the most attractive destinations, drawing visitors with its pristine and majestic beauty. This complex includes 10 large caves, with the three main caves being: Ngọc Hoàng Cave, Ngọc Long Cave, and Fairy Cave, as well as Ngọc Nữ Mountain.

The Path to the Cave

Mù Cua Mountain is distinguished by massive boulders stacked upon each other, creating fascinating shapes. Notably, a large rock called Ngọc Nữ (Jade Maiden) is located to the north and is considered to resemble the image of a beautiful young woman, with her eyes gazing toward Ngọc Hoàng Cave, the largest and most beautiful of the three caves that have been developed for tourism.

In Front of the Cave Entrance

Ngọc Hoàng Cave stretches across the width of the mountain, with areas of varying heights and bizarre shapes. A stream flows year-round at the cave's base. The cave consists of several levels, including the Trần Gian (Mortal Realm) and Thượng Giới (Heavenly Realm). The high ceiling and the stalactites resemble white clouds. The Trần Gian level is designed to resemble a royal palace, with depictions of high-ranking officials and two dragons surrounding the throne. From the Trần Gian level, visitors ascend stone steps to reach the Thượng Giới, where a gigantic stone resembling an old sage with silver hair stands among children. Continuing deeper, visitors will arrive at the Vương Mẫu Palace, associated with the legend of the Bàn Đào (Peach Table) and deities, where strange stone formations take the shapes of elephants, horses, peacocks, lions, banyan trees, and fig trees. Finally, visitors will reach the Ngọc Hoàng Palace, where a large stone slab features the image of Ngọc Hoàng (Jade Emperor) wearing a celestial crown, reigning alongside his high-ranking officials.

Stalagmites Inside the Cave in Trường Lâm

Ngọc Long Cave is one of the most interesting caves, where the stalactites and limestone formations resemble twisting dragons, encircling an altar. Notably, on the cave's wall, there is an image of the Buddha Quan Âm with her hands clasped, looking down.

Fairy Cave is considered a magnificent paradise, like a fairyland. Here, visitors will see stalactites shaped like elephants, tigers, blooming flowers, and even representations of a mother's breast. A notable feature of the cave is a stretch of stalactites several dozen meters long, shaped like marbles with translucent shells. Nearby, there is a rock formation resembling an eagle with its wings spread wide, bowing its head to pick up a marble. Continuing deeper, visitors will encounter a fairy pond, surrounded by rock formations shaped like dragons and turtles, with a special area containing stalactites resembling custard apples, evoking the image of dragon eggs.

Ngọc Nữ Mountain is located 500 meters south of Ngọc Hoàng Cave, along the road leading to Fairy Cave. The mountain resembles a young woman in an áo dài, lying within a chain of limestone mountains made up of large rocks leaning against each other, standing upright like a two-story ancient castle. Ngọc Hoàng Cave, Fairy Cave, and Ngọc Nữ Mountain together form the Trường Lâm Cave Complex, which is very attractive to tourists who enjoy exploratory tourism.
