Innovating tourism products, improving service quality and strengthening connectivity are becoming key requirements for Thanh Hoa to enhance its tourism competitiveness. These efforts are gradually shaping a modern tourism ecosystem, with cultural identity and natural resources serving as the foundation for creating a distinctive destination.

One of the approaches expected to enhance the value of Thanh Hoa’s tourism is to connect heritage with high-quality accommodation, leisure and experiential products. Recently, the Management Board of the Ho Citadel Heritage Site and Key Historical Sites of Thanh Hoa Province signed a memorandum of understanding with representatives of Lamori Resort & Spa. Under the agreement, the parties will work together to promote the value of Lam Kinh Special National Relic Site and develop tourism products at Lamori Resort & Spa.

Nguyen Ba Linh, Director of the Management Board of the Ho Citadel Heritage Site and Key Historical Sites of Thanh Hoa Province, said: “Combining sightseeing, leisure and experiential activities is expected to provide visitors with more options while expanding the space for tourism development and enhancing the value of heritage sites. This is also a way to bring historical and cultural values to visitors through more engaging forms that meet today’s demand for experiences. Connecting heritage with resort products not only creates an additional option for visitors, but also expands the experiential space, giving them more time to explore the history and culture of the region. More importantly, the cooperation will help bring the inherent values of the heritage to greater prominence, ensuring that new tourism products meet visitors’ needs for leisure and experiences while preserving the distinctive identity and cultural depth of Thanh Hoa.”

In reality, efforts to deepen cooperation and connectivity have contributed to improving the quality of destinations across the province. Thanh Hoa’s tourism products continue to be renewed and enhanced. At traditional destinations, a wide range of cultural, sporting and tourism activities have been organized, attracting visitors, extending their stays and increasing tourist spending. Meanwhile, community-based ecotourism linked to the preservation and promotion of cultural values continues to receive attention, in line with visitors’ growing demand for authentic experiences.

The achievements of Thanh Hoa’s tourism sector have been recognized through prestigious awards at the 2026 VITA Awards. Yen Trung Tourism Village was named a “Leading Community-Based Tourism Village”; Sam Son Beach received the title of “Top Favorite Beach”; Lam Kinh Special National Relic Site was honored as a “Leading Destination in the Preservation and Promotion of Traditional Cultural Values”; and FLC Samson Beach & Golf Resort was once again recognized as a “Leading Tourism Accommodation Establishment with Diverse, High-Quality Services.” These accolades not only recognize the efforts of localities and destinations, but also help affirm Thanh Hoa’s reputation and ongoing efforts to build a distinctive tourism ecosystem on Vietnam’s national tourism map.

According to tourism experts, Thanh Hoa’s advantages lie not only in the number of destinations it offers, but also in the richness and diversity of its natural, cultural and historical resources. Therefore, tourism development should focus on unlocking the deeper value of each locality, transforming landscapes, culture and community life into substantive elements of tourism products. Cultural and heritage tourism as well as community-based ecotourism can therefore not only diversify visitor experiences, but also help preserve and promote local identity while creating sustainable livelihoods for residents.

Speaking at the conference on customer engagement, networking and promotion of Sam Son’s 2026 low-season tourism programs, Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, said: “With its advantages in natural resources and cultural heritage, Thanh Hoa has all the potential needed to develop a modern tourism ecosystem rich in local identity. The province should continue to improve product quality and develop distinctive tourism products capable of competing in the market. Priority should be given to cultural tourism, community-based ecotourism and coastal tourism. In particular, the province needs to strengthen the application of digital technology in management, promotion and visitor services, while preparing the necessary conditions for the successful development of new products and the organization of cultural, sporting and tourism events at coastal destinations during the low season.”

Thanh Hoa is making strong initial strides toward realizing its aspiration: “Thanh Hoa Tourism – Four Seasons of Fragrance and Beauty.” When each tourism product brings its unique value to the forefront, businesses prioritize quality, and destinations complement one another, Thanh Hoa’s tourism ecosystem will have greater room to develop in depth, opening up new journeys rich in local identity and aligned with emerging tourism trends.
